You have a Diva Cup? Sorry if I'm getting to personal but I was wondering how you like it? I've been debating getting one for months but I'm not sure if I'll like it.

No problem! I love my divacup. It was hard to get used to, and it takes practice to make sure it works right, but once you get the hang of it it’s awesome.

1. It’s a lot more comfortable than tampons and pads. I hate pads (they always make me feel gross) and tampons were always so dry I didn’t like them either. Since a divacup is made of silicon and doesn’t absorb anything, it’s a lot more comfortable than a tampon. It’s internal so you don’t have to deal with the feeling of a pad.

2. You can wear it for a longer period of time than a tampon. I have a very busy schedule and I hate having to worry about when I’m going to have a chance to change my tampon. I don’t have to worry about that as much with a divasup. It’s great for long car trips.

3. It really gets you comfortable with your body. I haven’t heard this talked about this as much, but one of the things I loved about divacup is that you really need to be comfortable with your body in order to use it. It’s more personal than a tampon, you have to physically put it in and take it out of yourself.

2. No more having to buy tampons and pads! As a broke college student tampons and pads can add up. A divacup is a one time investment that can be used over and over.

There are a couple of cons:

1. It’s hard to use the first time. The first time I used it I didn’t insert in correctly and ended up bleeding all over my underwear. I recommend wearing a pad with your divacup until you’re confident with it.

2. It’s messy. You have to empty the blood out every time you take it out. That can be messy. You may end up with blood on your hands. You have to be comfortable with your body/period.

3. You have to be confident to wash it out in public. Divacup should be washed out with water every time you empty it out. If you empty it out in public you have to be confident enough to wash it out in a public sink or okay with re-inserting it bloody and washing it later.

Despite the cons, I think it’s a worthwhile investment. I recommend divacup to anyone who asks. I think it’s great and wish I had been exposed to it earlier.
